Earlier today, the Foundation for Healthcare Initiative (FHI) participated in an emergency meeting convened by SLANGO at the Ministry of Finance Conference Hall, following the Government’s declaration of a Public Health Emergency on Kush.
The engagement brought together Ministers, the National Drug Enforcement Agency, development partners, and civil society leaders to discuss coordinated strategies and identify funding opportunities to address the growing Kush crisis destroying the lives of our young people.
Representing FHI, I emphasized the need to engage recovering and at-risk youths in agriculture and other productive employment opportunities, as many fall victim to Kush due to unemployment and frustration. As the saying goes, “an idle mind is the devil’s workshop.”
FHI remains committed to working with Government, SLANGO, and all partners to restore hope, support rehabilitation, and build healthier communities across Sierra Leone.
